Stainless Steel FAQs

What is Stainless Steel?

Stainless steel is a solid, uniform metal all the way through. It won’t chip or peel, and because it is naturally silver-toned, there is no "base metal" to show through if it gets scratched.

Will It Tarnish or Turn My Skin Green?

No. One of the greatest perks of stainless steel is that it does not tarnish, oxidize, or react with your skin’s oils. It will not leave green or black marks on your skin, even in humid conditions or during heavy workouts.

Is Stainless Steel Safe for Sensitive Skin?

Yes. Stainless steel is hypoallergenic. Because it is non-reactive and lacks the high nickel content found in many cheap alloys, it is an excellent choice for those with metal sensitivities or "finicky" ears.

Can I Wear It Every Day?

Absolutely. Stainless steel is one of the most "worry-free" metals available. It is scratch-resistant and holds its shape better than precious metals like gold or silver, making it perfect for an active lifestyle.

Can I Shower or Swim in It?

Yes. Unlike gold-filled or plated jewelry, stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion from water, including salt water and chlorine. While we recommend rinsing it with fresh water after a dip in the ocean, you don't need to worry about taking it off for every shower.

How Long Will Stainless Steel Jewelry Last?

Essentially forever. It is virtually indestructible. It won’t warp, won’t rust, and requires very little maintenance—just an occasional wipe with a soft cloth to keep it shining.

Gold Filled FAQs

What Is Gold-Filled Jewelry?

Gold-filled jewelry is created by mechanically bonding a small percentage layer of 14k gold to a high-quality brass core using extreme heat and pressure. This process results in a durable piece that contains significantly more gold than standard plating.

How Is Gold-Filled Different From Gold-Plated?

The difference lies in the thickness and the process. Because this layer is up to 100 times thicker than gold plating, it won't chip, flake, or rub off, offering the look and feel of solid gold at a fraction of the cost.

Will It Tarnish Or Turn My Skin Green?

No. Under normal wear conditions, gold-filled jewelry does not tarnish or turn your skin green. Since the outer layer is a small percentage of genuine gold, it reacts to your skin the same way solid gold would, maintaining its luster for years.

Is Gold-Filled Safe For Sensitive Skin?

Yes. Gold-filled jewelry is hypoallergenic and generally well-tolerated by those with sensitive skin. The thick gold outer shell acts as a permanent barrier, preventing your skin from coming into contact with the base metal underneath.

Can I Wear It Every Day?

Absolutely. Our gold-filled pieces are designed for daily life. They are resilient enough to handle your everyday routine—from the office to running errands—while maintaining their beautiful, high-shine finish.

Can I Shower Or Sleep In It?

While gold-filled jewelry is highly water-resistant and safe for sleeping, we recommend removing it before swimming in chlorine or salt water to preserve its brilliance. For maximum longevity, a quick rinse after heavy sweating will keep the gold looking its best.

How Long Will Gold-Filled Jewelry Last?

With basic care, gold-filled jewelry can last decades. It is considered a "lifetime" metal in the industry, making it the ultimate long-lasting alternative to plated jewelry and the smartest investment for your jewelry box.

Stainless Steel
Daily Wear & Water:
Unlike other metals, stainless steel is highly water-resistant. You can wear it while bathing or exercising; however, we recommend rinsing it with fresh water after swimming in chlorinated pools or salt water to prevent dulling over time.

Cleaning Method:
To restore shine or remove surface oils, use a solution of mild dish soap and warm water. Soak the piece for a few minutes and use a soft-bristle toothbrush for intricate details. Always dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.

Storage:
To avoid surface scratches from harder gemstones (like diamonds or sapphires), store your stainless steel pieces in their original pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box.
Gold Filled
The “Last On, First Off” Rule:
To preserve the thick gold layer, always apply perfumes, lotions, and hairsprays before putting on your jewelry. Make your jewelry the very last step of your beauty routine.

Moisture Management:
While gold-filled is more durable than gold-plating, it still prefers to stay dry. Remove your pieces before swimming, bathing, or intense workouts. If your jewelry does get wet, pat it dry immediately with a soft cloth.

Safe Storage:
Store your jewelry in the original pouch provided or a lined jewelry box to prevent it from scratching against other metals or getting tangled.

Gentle Cleaning Only:
For a deep clean, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft jewelry cloth. Avoid using liquids or chemicals.
